Today I am putting you through my Abdominal Breakdown abs workout. This highly effective mini circuit workout targets every area of the abs, from the obliques, to the upper abs and yes, even the lower abs.

There are a million searches for How To Get A Six Pack every day, but the majority of people are still lost.

The key to a great abs workout is to select the best combination of abs exercises. Too many people opt for boring old sit ups and machine crunches, which will hit only one area of the core (the upper abs) and leave the obliques and lower abs untrained.

Abdominal Breakdown gives you three exercises, each of them specifically selected to target one part of your stomach. We begin with straight leg crunches, a fantastic exercise for developing upper abs strength due to it"s ability to create the maximum build-up of lactic acid in the working muscles. Yes, this exercise is going to burn and yes, you"re going to hate it. But you will love the results it brings to you.

The second exercise today is the T Hold.

This 5 second pause will activate your obliques, but it also has the secondary benefits of really making the stabilizer muscles in your core switch on as well as preparing your lower abs for the work to come. Our third move is an old classic (lying leg raise) which is often performed incorrectly.

In this video I show you the correct way to perform lying leg raises in order to activate the lower abs to their maximum degree!

You"ll see how only raising the legs to a ninety degree angle will activate your hip flexor muscles but do very little for your lower abs, and you"ll see how to bring the knees up a little higher in order to switch on the correct muscles where we want to be feeling the exercise work.

Try applying this Abdominal Breakdown workout at the end of your workouts, perform between 3 and 5 rounds of this circuit workout, and within the next 3-4 weeks I expect to see you posting some impressive before and after pictures (tag my Twitter handle @RussHowePTI).
