Targeted: $30 Off A $60 Amazon Purchase

It’s amazing how many promotions we’ve seen lately for Amazon purchases, and now we can add yet another one to the list. Amazon is offering $30 off a $60 purchase when you use at least one Amex Membership Rewards point for a purchase. Best of all, this promotion even works on third party gift card purchases (though not the direct purchase of Amazon gift cards).

To take advantage of this, first visit this page and push the “click here to activate” button. Once you push it, you should see that it says “coupon clipped,” at which point it should be saved to your account. This promotion won’t work for everyone, though it does seem to be widely targeted. For example, I’m eligible even though I wasn’t contacted about the promotion. If you’re not eligible for the offer, you should know as soon as you push that button.

This offer gives you $30 off a single purchase of at least $60. The promotion expires on December 31, 2017, and you can only use the offer once per eligible account. In order to be eligible, an item has to be sold and shipped by amazon.com, so it can’t be through a third party, and gift cards also aren’t eligible.

For example, let’s say you wanted to buy a $60 Uber gift card.

Once you put the product in your cart, choose a payment method. To take advantage of this deal you’ll have to redeem at least one Amex Membership Rewards point. So select a card that earns Amex Membership Rewards points. Once you’ve selected that card, further down you should see an option to redeem points towards the purchase. I recommend redeeming the minimum number of points. In this case, you’d want to redeem one Membership Rewards point to get a $0.01 discount on the purchase price.

Once you’ve done that, your total should be updated. In my case I see “AMEX Discount” in the order summary, which gives me $30 off.

Hopefully most of you are able to take advantage of this awesome deal! Given that many of us make purchases daily through Amazon, this is like free money for purchases you’d make with Amazon anyway.

Were you targeted for this great Amazon offer?
