Great Exercise to Lift Your Butt and Hit Upper Hamstrings...Bar-In-Front Split Squats
http://www.buildabiggerbutt.com - if lifting the glutes and hitting that glute/hamstring tie-in area is on your to-do list, THIS is an exercise you"ll want to try.
It"s a simple split squat movement done with the bar held in FRONT of your shin rather than on your back or between your legs.
This forces you to lean forward at the bottom...when you lean forward while maintaining an arch in the lower back, you put a great stretch on the lower glute/upper hamstring area.
Then you just stand up, completing the contraction.
Use a very light weight the first time you do this one as you want to maintain that arch and keep good form.
This one doesn"t work as well with dumbbells as we actually DO need the bar in front so that resistance is forced to stay forward of your center of mass.
This is a great exercise for lifting the glutes, especially for tightening up that lower glute area.
