Barceló Hotels Arranges an Immersive Tour in the Canary Islands
Thanks to the technology behind 360 VR experiences, "armchair wanderlust" is becoming a possibility. This means that individuals with restricted mobility, those who can"t afford it or can"t leave work have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a virtual vacation in the comfort of their own home.
Spanish Barceló Hotels collaborates on the "Museo Atlantico" — Europe"s first underwater museum that boasts a 360 VR experience. Located on the south coast of Lanzarote in the Canary Islands, the main attraction of this below sea level facility is an artificial reef. At the twelve meter mark, virtual visitors can survey life-size sculptures that are created by British artist Jason deCaires Taylor. The 360 VR experience and the underwater installations are created in order to raise awareness of crucial environmental issues.
