President Donald Trump repeatedly talks about the ongoing Russia investigation and has discussed how to end it, during his working vacation at his Bedminster, New Jersey, retreat, Politico reported.
The president’s mood has visibly soured any time special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation is brought up, unnamed sources told the political news site.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) golfed with Trump last weekend and told guests at an event that the president mentioned ending the Mueller investigation “about 20 times,” the report said.
Trump’s mood has gotten worse when the Russia probe story has dominated.
“Every day you wake up and it’s Manafort this, Manafort that. It’s crazy,” said one close adviser. “How do you get away from it?”
The president is focused on the trade war with China and efforts for a border wall at the encouragement of White House senior policy adviser Stephen Miller, who is said to be planning more immigration crackdowns before the fall"s midterm elections.
